Lightweight soundproof metamaterials
It does not obey the law of mass! It exhibits excellent sound insulation despite being lightweight.
"Lightweight Soundproofing Metamaterial" is a new material made from silica aerogel/cellulose nanofiber. We have successfully created a water-dispersed solution using hydrophobic silica aerogel particles and CNF. By simply impregnating this water-dispersed solution into glass wool and drying it, we achieve a soundproofing material with astonishing lightness and soundproofing properties. By impregnating the dispersed solution into glass wool of desired dimensions and shapes and then drying it, various applications in different shapes are possible. [Features] - Excellent soundproofing despite being lightweight - Weight is only 1/16 of what physical laws would suggest - Composite material of silica aerogel/cellulose nanofiber (CNF)/glass wool - Surface density of 0.74 kg/m² with acoustic transmission loss of over 30 dB (200-2000 Hz) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
